Welcome to the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Office of the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP).
HKSTP is committed to protecting the environment, health, and safety of our employees and the Science Park communities. To fulfill and sustain HKSTP’s environmental, health and safety management policy, the SHE Office has been established to:
- Assist management to continuously improve corporate safety, health, and the environmental management system;
- Coordinate all offices/clusters to integrate safety, health, and environmental management practices into all aspects of HKSTP’s business;
- Provide expertise in occupational health and safety (OSH), laboratories and research safety, construction safety, safety management for specialized R&D facilities, laboratory facility management, and more.
To achieve these goals, we have set up four management teams within the SHE office.

Safety, Health and Environment
- Implement and monitor the health and safety program for HKSTP offices, co-working facilities and public areas.
- Conduct regular safety, health and environmental inspections to HKSTP premises
- Organize safety training and promotion to enhance safety awareness
- Advise and monitor the food hygiene safety program
- Conduct accident and incident investigation
- Provide advice and support on all aspect of safety and health (excluding laboratory safety)
Laboratory & Research Safety
- Steering laboratory and research safety by setting up corporate policy, guidelines and procedures
- Carry out safety and health assessment in BISA process of lab tenants and in other research facilities project
- Conduct regular laboratory safety inspections to all laboratories at the Science Park
- Monitor health, safety and environment compliances at various life cycle stages of a laboratory tenant
- Carry out laboratory related incident or accident investigation
- Provide advice and support on all aspect of laboratory and research safety
- Maintain the dangerous goods statutory requirement compliance and provide routine preventive maintenance to all gas facilities including annual overhaul and inspection
- Monitor, control and provide service for central dangerous goods logistic arrangement to laboratory tenants
- Update and review facilities standards and safety requirement; coordinate with FSD on the DG facilities design, operation, control and subsequence licenses renewal

- Provide laboratory technical support to lab tenants
- Plan, design, build and prepare the performance specification as per the Corporation requirement
- Review and modify laboratory facilities to meet user’s requirements and International Standard
- Provide support to cluster on planning, design and development of laboratories
